The various designs are representative of the beautiful fabrics available at that time. Ticking with motifs woven in jacquard accompanied with stripes are the earliest examples of French Mattress Ticking. They are from the 19th Century. Simple stripes on linen were used from 1900-1910. Simple stripes on heavy cotton were popular in the 1920’s. Floral jacquards were the height of fashion in the 1940’s. And floral prints were used from the 1920’s to the 1940’s.
Each pillow is perfectly hand tailored with ticking representing the height of French ticking designs of the late 1800’s through the 1940’s. Each pillow is further decorated with a self cording and backed with vintage French Homespun, circa 1860-1880.
The French have long known the sensual pleasure of luxurious fabrics in decorating their homes. Cottage Classics new series of French ticking pillows in various sizes gives any home a touch of French beauty and a timeless sense of history.
